A unique trait specific to the species is a shining, flexible iridescent material found on their tails used mostly for identification and showing off which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. The shine can be compared to a hummingbird or snake’s natural iridescence, and this shimmering association to their own kind has led to many Kalons hoarding shiny or colorful objects they come across. They also tend to create close bonds with fellow species members, especially those within a family unit. They communicate through a series of chatters and growls, each succession of noises unique to form a sort of language. These creatures are active both during the day and the night cycles usually spending time napping in the sunlight or hunting prey after dark. Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient. Scientists have urged the general population to consider adopting Kalons for further study into their aptitude. Their intelligence has been called similar to that of dolphins. Human interference with the species, such as radiation or their sensitivity to airwaves, has caused hundreds of these creatures to form harmless mutations. These genetic transformations vary greatly such as additional limbs, excessive fur growth, and even glowing body parts.  ✦ Kalons is a closed species and only Staff Members may make official Main or Nursery adopts. Community members may make Kalon designs official with the use of MYO slots. ✦ Users may own an unlimited amount of Kalons. They may only win three Main Adopts or RUs per month. The month is determined by when the Kalon is posted, not when the competition is judged. NBs and special event Kalons do not count towards this limit. ✦ Selling or purchasing Kalons for any type of payment [money, virtual currency, art, etc.] is prohibited. ✦ Users may not use the Kalon base to sell pre-made designs for the species. They may offer their commission services to design MYOs for users. ✦ Designs purchased on other bases may be transferred to Kalon designs as MYOs with the permission of the original artist. Designs that exist as Kalons may not concurrently be part of others closed species. ✦ Kalons may be transferred out of the species with permission from the original designer and the species owner. ✦ Once in a users ownership, they are free to develop a Kalons character as they'd like within the Kalon rules.

The muzzle and back lines of a Kalon must remain untouched. ✦ Users may not edit Official Kalons without the use of edit items. Kalons designs must remain the same and should not be edited. ✦ Changing a Kalons expression is allowed and does not need approval. This includes the expression of the eyes, mouth, eyebrows, and whiskers.  ✦ Kalon Artists open nursery slots as they see fit. Users may post tickets trying out for any open nursery slots. ✦ Nursery batches will result in 1-4 kits, randomly rolled, unless a breeding item is used to determine number. ✦ Traits passed from the parents are randomly rolled with predetermined rates based on trait rarity and the number of parents in the ticket containing the traits. These rates, along with breeding item uses can be seen on the breeding rolls sheet. ✦ Rolls for traits and kit number may be requested from the artist who took a user's ticket. Legendary trait rolls will be done in the public discord channel. ✦ Users must wait one week after obtaining a Kalon before they can breed it. ✦ Users must wait one month after a nursery ticket has been accepted before trying out for a new one. ✦ Kalons have a maximum of 3 free breedings. A fourth breeding slot may be purchased from the Kalon shop. ✦ Any items being used in a breeding must be on the ticket at the time of posting. ✦ Nursery tickets can be between either two or three Kalons. ✦ Any pair or trio of Kalons can breed regardless of sex or gender. ✦ Kalons that are kits that have not had an official growth approved cannot breed. Users cannot seek breedings with Kalon kits until they have an approved growth. ✦ Incestuous pairings cannot breed. ✦ If at least a month has past and a user cannot get into contact with the artist who took on their nursery ticket, they may contact the species owner to find a new artist for the ticket. ✦ Once a Nursery Batch is posted, kit fates must be determined and agreed upon between the users involved in the ticket. If an agreement cannot be reached, a Staff Member can be contacted to roll fates publicly in the Kalon discord. ✦ Fates of kits must be posted on their NB thread to be official and for all cooldowns to start. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━» ✦ «━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
 ✦ A user may hold a readoption for any official Kalons they own at any time. ✦ Once a readoption is posted, a winner must be chosen at the end of the competition, and the Kalon must be gifted to the new owner. ✦ Readopts should be judged within a months time. If left unjudged, if the host cannot be contacted, a Kalon Staff Member will step in to judge. ✦ All readopts require entries to be posted publicly.  [ Strikes & Bans List ] ✦ Users banned from the Kalon species may not interact with any Kalon threads or the Kalon discord server, including but not limited to trying out for new adopts or readoptions, applying for breedings, or participating in events. Banned users may not obtain new Kalons, grow kits, trade Kalons, or use MYO slots. Banned users may also not take any commissions involving Kalons. ✦ Users who repeatedly break rules in the Kalon discord server may be banned temporarily or permanently from the server, without being banned from the species entirely. ✦ The Kalon species reserves the right to strike or ban any user via majority Kalon staff vote in accordance with the assessed severity of the situation. ✦ Users are usually given three strikes before a complete ban. Occasionally for offenses great enough, users may be banned before being given any strikes. ✦ Users may request appeals of both strikes and bans. The species owner may reverse decisions based on discussion within the staff chat. ✦ Kalons of banned users may be readopted based on the severity of the case. This usually occurs in cases where the Staff is concerned banned users may scam others with sales of their Kalons. |

 ✦ Occasionally if an artist feels entries for Main Adopt Kalon competitions that did not win are deserving of recognition, that artist will award honorable mentions, colloquially known as HMs. Users who have accumulated enough HMs may trade them in for MYO slots and edit items. ✦ Artists are not required to give out HMs for every competition. ✦ HMs may be redeemed in the Kalon Shop. ✦ Rates for HM rewards are as follows:

Experience is awarded based on how many words you write, and/or the content of your art. All entries will receive experience (as long as you follow the art/writing only rules)! Here is our writing exp scale, and here is our art exp scale. The writing exp scale is the same as the one used in explore. The art exp scale may be subject to change in the future. ＳＴＡＲＤＵＳＴ If you earn at least 60 exp total from all of your quest responses in a round, then you're eligible to receive stardust as a prize as well! You don't need 60+ exp from each quest; just 60 overall (i.e. 30 from quest one, 20 from quest two, 10 from quest three). Your exp will be converted to stardust as follows: 1 exp = 2 stardust Don't worry, you'll still receive experience as well! The stardust is just an additional, bonus prize. ＷＩＮＮＥＲＳ Winners are chosen based on effort, quality, and creativity. Prizes vary between months and quests, but Hana's favorite entries from each quest will receive a rarer bonus prize! |

Q: Can Hana ask the same question twice? A: Theoretically, yes! Our quests are chosen via random number generator from a document that only staff have access to Q: May I suggest a prompt? A: Yes!! Please do! My DMs are always open to prompt suggestions <3 Q: How are the pieces judged? A: Experience and stardust are awarded by effort, and winners are chosen by effort, quality, and creativity! Q: I responded to a prompt, but didn't get any exp! What happened? A: Please double check the requirements for the prompt. Writing done for art-only prompts and art done for writing-only prompts won't count for any experience. If you followed the prompt requirements and answered the right prompt, then there may have been a mistake on our end; we're only human after all! Spring is full of new beginnings, from the soft downy feathers of newly hatched chicks to the tender green buds of new leaves waiting to unfurl under the warmth of the sun's rays. Since ancient times both man and beast have shed their winter coats in joyous observance of the warming weather and blooming flora in abundance. Together we can uncover some secrets that the E. papilios have been hiding over the winter!

Bijoux Bees - Interest check? 🐝
I had an idea a while back about doing a little bee art roleplay game on here. Finally got around to drawing an actual bee, and it came out a lot better than I expected! IDEAS: originally posted 3/8/24 • Species name = Bijoux Bees • Similar to regular bees, their hives have: - Queens - Drones - Workers • Queens are bigger, biologically female, and lead their hive. The main Queen is the Cardinal Queen. Any other Queens are Princesses. • Drones are mid-size, biologically male, and protect the queen. Typically, the Queen will have an entourage of Drones around her. • Workers are smaller, biologically female, and collect nectar for food. They also clean and repair the hive and feed the hive's larvae. • Each type of bee will have its own unique line-art. The antennae and stingers may be edited on any of the bees. The wing shape cannot change, but the veins (lines) can vary. • The colors of these bees can vary greatly & aren't just yellow + black! Stripes will be required on all bees, but the width & amount can vary. • Members start off with a single Queen, and then from there can adopt additional bees, participate in events, or complete art/writing tasks to level up their hive & gain more bees. Art & writing won't be judged on quality - only on whether it meets the requirements of the task. • There are 11 levels that can be gained from participating in the species. Levels 1 through 10 grant members 10 additional bees per level gained. Unlimited slots are granted once a member reaches level 11. • Customs + breeding would also be available for these! I want this to be a super relaxed and fun little pixel species. Please share your thoughts! Would you participate in something like this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: 3/8/24 Thank you to those who have responded so far! I feel like there seems to be a little hesitancy around the "roleplaying" aspect. I thought maybe I'd explain it a little bit more and offer an alternative idea to the art/writing ideas I have for this species. "Roleplay" is usually seen as something done between 2 people, but here it just means storytelling via art or writing! For example, with the levels...each level would require a certain prompt be answered with art or writing to gain that level. So let's say you want to get to level 2! You'd write a 100 word biography or make a full body piece of art of a Queen you own, as well as list your hive's social structure and describe (in 2+ sentences each) the roles for the social structure you choose. Do those things, and you'd advance to level 2 and be allowed to adopt a total of 20 bees! (Each level adds 10 more bee slots.) If this seems like too much, I did have a thought that the larger art/writing requirements could be dedicated to solely events. For example, let's say there's a Christmas event going on. There would be a Christmas-themed prompt to be answered, and members who meet the requirements would earn currency or items to get custom bees or special items for breeding their bees. If you participated, would you prefer to have level ups or just have events where you earn prizes? I'm pleasantly surprised at the amount of attention these have had. More ideas! ^_^ I thought it might be cool to have 3 different "color variations" available for Bijoux Bees! They would be called Basic (typical black/yellow), Mono (1 color, multiple shades), and Jewel (3+ different colors). I also changed the shape of the antennae and stingers to show how they can differ! The last one has different wing veins, too! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT 3: 3/15/24  Added a new lineart! .3. I'm thinking this one would be the Drone lines? Tried to do a bigger head/mandibles/stinger with a slightly smaller abdomen. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT 4: 3/16/24  Final lineart! :3 The Worker! Slightly smaller body, thinner legs, and bigger wings! They'll need those big wings since they'll be the ones to leave the nest for food. There's a thicker part on the upper part of the back legs - those are nectar pouches! |

 I dont have the motivation to keep theses guys up and running so im opening the lines for anyone to use. Something has happen to the humans they all disappear one night but that was years ago. The world as grown to evolve around what was left behind. Once beloved k9's had to evolve with them. Roming the cities are the City K9's straying away from the dark woods of the unknow. Life not easy as more and more travel to the city. Are you able to lead your pack though the hard times or will you explore in to the unknown? Getting Started! They may have bright fur but their fur cannot be purple for example. Unless its a mutation. But can have unnatural markings. ‣ you may resell voidwalkers equal to or below the amount you paid for them, not above. ‣ voidwalkers that were received for free may not be resold, only traded or put up for adoption. ‣ currently there is no limit to how many you may own. ‣ all voidwalkers must have a neck-mouth. multiple irises is not required, but must fit the trait list. ‣ they can be any gender/sexuality. this does not affect breeding.

Hi all! make sure to check out the main page before making one please! The event does not have a set end date yet, it will probably be sometime in June. In this MYO you can have unlimited non rarity [nr] traits, up to 2 common [c] traits, up to 2 uncommon [uc] traits, and up to 1 rare [r] trait. You also have a mandatory, nonremovable spring event trait, which is the vine growing around the sherpie. You may edit the leaves or add flowers to the vine but you may not move the actual vine. Also please comment to be added to the 'color in' section because i dont know how to set if for everyone to do so ':]

hi ! welcome !! axioms are creatures surrounded by mystery, known for their affinity for people - especially kids. they're tall, about 4'5 / 134 cm on average, but gentle and loving beings. also, they can't bite! you see, the very first axiom was born just like all the others. a young girl came to a witch, holding a bizarre looking stuffed toy. They can only be sold for currencies across different games and websites. • Line edits are not permitted. Add ons such as flowers, animals and extra tack and mane/tail edits are allowed but anything pertaining to the body structure/main lines is not permitted! • Do not steal VW's Lore or lines! • All Valdiac Warmblood Have 7 Breeding Slots! • All Members are allowed 1 import with 1 rare gene and all artist have 2 imports the only limit is only one is allowed a limited gene! • Any Pre-made free VW (like from color-in events) Not claimed with in 1 week of the end date of the event will be reacquired by the VW Community!  Colour rarity Common: Chestnut, Black, Bay, Flaxen, Seal, Wild bay, Tobiano *Solid coats are much more common. Uncommon: Grey, Champagne, Splash, Single Cream, Silver, Gulastra Plume(with out white), Pangare, Roan, Dun, Appaloosa, Sooty , Birdcatcher Spots Rare: Double Cream, Overo, Tovero, Rabicano, Mushroom, Pearl Limited: Brindle, Reverse Brindle, Manchado, Dominant White, Lacing, Somatic, White Dun Not Seen (yet): Sabino, Mismark, Chimera *Vitiligo in Valdiac Warmbloods is extremely limited and there is a 5% chance it will pass onto offspring Height 16 - 18 hands. Some have been seen to be as short as 15.2 but this is not desired. These horses are not recommended to be used for breeding. For a currently unknown reason, stallions are slightly harder to come by and produce from breeding. There is a 35% chance of a breeding resulting in a stallion. Conformation - Head should be refined and expressive - Neck should be muscular and arched - Withers should be well defined - Strong shoulders and well muscled forearms - Medium length back - Hind quarters should be powerful - Legs should be long and strong - Their paces should be full of impulsion and suspension. They should hold natural balance and should move freely. Temperament Valdiac Warmbloods are honest and forgiving horses, well known for their free moving paces and powerful natural jump. Their trainability is notable as they are a highly intelligent breed and are very willing to please. You may now Ignore stat ranges! Mane & Tail Styles Mane and tail styles can be mixed and matched.  -- Loose mane & loose tail --  -- Braided mane & braided tail --  -- Long mane & long tail --  -- Roached mane & short tail -- Riding Disciplines -- Dressage -- Dressage is a discipline that requires Training, obedience, flexibility, and balance. Horse and Rider may aquire points by doing movements that can be rated on a score from the judged, in the end the rider with the most points has the hightest ranking and winnings. -Mane Must be Braided -Tail May be Braided, Loose, or Long -Short tails may be used in Dressage but must have a Mane and Tail Ticket Pass -All Entries must have their stables Registered with Archives -- Jousting -- Jousting, the Horse Sport from the medieval times is used as a game to keep rider(s) and horse(s) in shape. Each side may win points by making contact with the others head or shield with their lance. -Mane may be anything but braided -Tail May be anything but braided -Long mane and Braided tail May be used if a Mane and Tail Ticket Pass are used -All Entries must have their stables Registered with Archives -- Cross Country-- A Series of jumps in the great out doors that require many skills, this is judged with the goal to have the lowest score possible. Horse and rider may Aquire points/Faults through refusals and such. -Mane must be loose -Tail must be Loose or long -Roached mane & tail, Braided mand & tail may only be used if applying a Mane and Tail Ticket Pass. -All Entries must have their stables Registered with the Archives -- Valuting -- Vaulting is the discipline in which a rider(s) goes through different movements and moves to showcase the horse and riders abilities. Each move Seen is Scored on a 0 to 10 scale, of which then goes through a math calution and is set on another scale from 0 to 10 which gives the final score and placings. -Mane must be Braided loose or roached -Tail may be anything! -Long mane may be used if applying a Mane and Tail Ticket Pass -All Entries must have their stables Registered with Archives |

 Show grounds are strict with what tack is allowed and what tack is prohibited. All leather should be either black, Havana (a dark brown) or Teak (a much lighter brown) or in a rare case and only in the Valdiac Warmbloods show ring Ivory and only in western is it allowed. Saddle pads must have limited patterns and designs to prevent distraction from the horse and rider. There are currently english and western tack sets available. *Tack does not serve any purpose within these adoptables and is purely for aesthetics. Tack will be posted underneath your horse's original reference. Tack can be removed at any time, but cannot be continuously changed. You must message the artist to remove any tack. The form should be messaged to the artist who created your horse's original reference.
 -- English tack --  -- Western tack --  What is clipping? Clipping involves shaving the horse's coat in order to keep them cool. It also minimises sweat, which prevents discomfort and loss of condition. *Clipping does not serve any purpose within these adoptables and is purely for aesthetics. A clip can be removed at any time, but will directly alter your horse's reference. If removed, a new clip cannot be added for another month. You must wait 1 month between changing clips. Clips will be difficult to see on light coats (greys, cremello etc). The artist must be messaged directly to remove a clip. The form should be messaged to the artist who created your horse's original reference.

 Breaking rules within this species will result in a strike depending on the severity. Strikes cannot be removed. Three strikes will result in a ban from the species.
