A Tess Cat Guide for Beginners!
The sitting cats were some of the first CS pets that were released. However, they only had an adult stage and were not growable pets. Tess teamed up with SaltyToothpaste to make adorable new growable cats! To learn more about them, check out DaDwarf's New Cat Guide for Beginners (SaltyToothpaste & Tess Lineart). Although the sitting cat lineart is no longer used for monthly adoptables, it is sometimes used for events and special occasions!
The sitting cat lineart (also known as the "Warrior cat" lineart) was originally created by Tess in order to create adoptables based on the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. These cats do not grow and were available for many months. Due to their availability, these cats were not valuable when they were first released, but have gained popularity and rarity/demand over time.
This guide shows all of the sitting cats in chronological order and explains anything special about each release. The "official" names given to these pets by the community are displayed underneath each pet.

Some CS members tend to see these cats as the same:
But if you take a closer look you can see a couple of differences. The UR Cat has a pink nose, bright green eyes and a shiny coat and the common cat has a black nose, dull green eyes and a dull coat.
Tess stopped releasing cats based on Warrior Cats due to potential copyright disputes that could have occurred for using official Warrior names paired with the fan-made designs. Although natural cat designs could not be claimed, pairing the names with the designs could be seen as copyright infringement and so Warrior Cat designs were no longer released.
Some of the Warrior Cats are larger or smaller based on the descriptions of the Warriors in the books.
The April Fool's 2009 Cats are inverted versions of each other.
