*Whispering*
Greg:What are you waiting for? Go on Zhak.
Yitzhak: But... Gregory, back earlier today when we were by that tree... you talked about how things don't come back after their killed, and stuff like that... so... but... why do we need to kill that thing? I mean, you said If something was attacking us, then it might be okay, but that thing is just sitting there.
Greg: Because if we don't, WE'LL be the ones dying of starvation. Because none of you remember anything from the past, you don't remember how to live or survive. So I have to teach you how to survive, and right now, to survive, you need to kill that. If you kill it, then we can keep living on and continue our journey. Also the pain that you feel will go away. That's why.
Yitzhak: So, what you're saying is... we have to kill things to live?
Greg: Uh, well, that's not exactly--
Yitzhak: And killing things makes you feel better?
Greg: Zhak--
Yitzhak: ...that's strange... but... if you have to, then I guess killing's okay, right?
Greg: NO. Ugh, that's not what I meant... *sigh*... look Zhak, we DON'T have to kill to survive, and yes, depending on the situation killing something CAN be the right or wrong thing... but you don't exactly understand that yet... but, ah, look. You see the--ah-- THING over there? Tell me what it's doing.
Yitzhak: ...it, um, has grass in it's mouth...?
Greg: Yes. It's eating the grass. Turning it into energy so that it can survive. We have to eat too. But we can't eat grass, so we have to eat something else. If we don't eat, we run out of energy and we can't go on. Things like that creature eat plants and other small things. Things like us or large things like that monster tree eat things like that creature. One day the things like the Tree or other large things will die on their own and turn into dirt for the plants. It's a cycle... It works sort of in a circle. But that's okay, because it's part of life, and surviving. Now killing is only okay when you're hunting for food you need, and occasionally for other things such as in fights... so... do you understand? Or do I have to repeat that....
Yitzhak: Um... well... I suppose I understand... but couldn't you have taken one of the others along and not me?
Greg: Genna probably couldn't handle it. Briana wouldn't be easy to work with in this situation. Razor would be to obnoxious and wouldn't listen at ALL. Brian would be to clumsy and probably wouldn't be too keen killing something with his bare hands. Orion would make a mess and probably attract unwanted attention. And I need Pix to watch the others. So you can do this quietly and probably more efficiently than the others. Those with ranged weapons are usually good hunters, so that's why I dragged you through the forest.
Now... can you carry this out now?
