sageclan territory resides in the windy lakes of vermont, giving them a modest
climate with mostly tame winters and warm summers. fur lengths vary from
short to long, but longer fur seems to be preferable for the colder months.
the most common prey are voles, mice, rabbits, squirrels, shrews, robins,
and other various birds; all the usual prey you'd find in a forest. deer can be
spotted, however they are too big for cats to take down. there aren't many
uncommon sources of prey unless they're foreign, although predators can vary.
foxes and the occasional badger can be spotted, but luckily they seemed to
have set up their dens on the other side of the forest. uncommon predators
are snakes, dogs and twolegs, but the last two usually stay on the trails set
out for them. hawks do pose threats for kits and small apprentices, so caution
is necessary, and in very rare cases, mountain lions can pass by and may even
attack. by the forest there is a huge lake where cats can drink and may even
catch the occasional fish, but the lake can attract twolegs, so it's best to go
there at night. because of the forests' density, almost any vegetation and
herb can be found, though some can be harder to find than others. the
moonstone and moonpool are located on a mountain that the forest is at
the base of, where the moonpool is located half-way up, and the moonstone
is located at the very top. the trek is brutally steep, only for grown cats.
sun rocks:
a few dozen meters from campthe sun rocks are a popular basking spot and hunting ground. it is said that
sagestar had found them while on a trip with her mate russetclaw. she
immediately took the chance to claim it, but as soon as she did, she had
a battle with a pack of hostile rouges, which she ended up scaring off.
there is a large claw mark on the highest stone of this creek, and while the
story seems implausible to some, many believe that the dent was indeed
created by sagestar. but others claim that twolegs might've climbed the
mountain and made the mark by themselves.
prey that can be found here: mice, adders, common birds.
threats that can be found here: large snakes, rouge cats.
the stream:
right by sun rocksthe stream is used by those who prefer a more fishy fresh-kill. this is used
to hunt, as well as a ritualistic right of passage. young cats learn to swim
at the calmer base, while older warriors can hunt in the higher, more
intense water rush. it is very slippery, so cats must actually watch their
step. every time, during a border patrol, the cats go over there first to
check for any rogues or kittypets that may accidentally get stuck in the
waterflow. many of previous clan members were found that way, saved
from the rapids. there is a small, rock island in the lake that apprentices
sometimes take vigil in for their final assessments, challenging the young
cat to use his or her surroundings to their advantage, and even when
cornered, can manage their own.
prey that can be found here: freshwater fish, moorhen.
threats that can be found here: snapping turtles, mountain lions (rare).
the clearing:
few meters away from campsageclan's pride and joy, the clearing is where most prey is found as long
as you can catch them. one of the few open spots in the forest, the clan
uses this a hunting ground as well as your best place for a relaxing stroll.
prey can be spotted from far away, but they can also spot you. it's a test
of using your wit and agility to track down any prey to avoid going home
empty-pawed.
prey that can be found here: rabbits, squirrels, voles.
threats that can be found here: foxes, eagles.
the fallentree:
sageclan bordera place of remembrance for sageclan, and the burial place of sagestar. other
cats will be buried alongside her as a sign of respect to the clan. to remember
those lost, each cat close to the deceased will be able to touch their nose to
the fallentree as a 'goodbye' to their loved one. defacing the tree is forbidden,
and a sign of disrespect to starclan as well as sageclan itself.
prey that can be found here: magpies, crows.
threats that can be found here: rouges, twolegs.
the moonpool/moonstone:
two miles away from campthe moonpool is a small pool, situated at the bottom of a stone hollow, a certain
distance from the clan's territories. on one side, there is a steep cliff with water
flowing out from a cleft, feeding the pool. there is an underground stream
leading out of the pool, which flows into the lake. a narrow path dimpled
with ancient pawprints leads down to a flat stone "beach" next to the pool.
for sharing tongues with starclan, the medicine cats lap up a few drops of
water or they touch their noses to the water.
