Dear Tundra, One time, years ago, we lost power for over a week (might have been two, the days blended together..). The snow was so high! My aunt and uncle and two little cousins lived nearby, and we had a fireplace, so they came and stayed with us. At the time, there were likely many things uncomfortable about the situation. (A mouse in the couch my uncle slept on, having to sleep with our clothes just so they would be warm enough to wear the next day, having to wear (no joke) seven layers of tights, jeans and skirt just to be warm enough to go to the mall and warm up.) But all I remember when I think back to it are fond memories of marshmallows, my mom learning how to cook on an open fire, ice cream made of snow. My dad was overseas with the military at the time and it could have been a lot scarier than it was. But I had family with me. :3

Extra: For me- I stay open-minded because you never know whats around the corner- especially during the holidays. I used to stay stuck in the thoughts of being in public meaning a horrible experience during the holidays. I was convinced everyone in a bad mood and mean. Then one day- I was on my lunch break trying to buy a salad at the store next-door to my job and the cashier couldn't take cash bc something went wrong with the till- I didn't have a card and the person behind me paid for my food and told me to enjoy it and have a good holiday. After that I stopped thinking so small and closed-minded and made sure to thinking more openly about the people out and about during the holidays ;v;
