What is a Kelpie you ask?
The Kelpie is a type of Scottish fairy horse. The leading theory is that they are horses who escaped their fae masters and hid in the water when the fairies came looking for them.
Behavior
Kelpies are very loving creature. The prefer to be in a herd rather than by themselves. If you adopt one Kelpie you must adopt another quickly. Kelpies are known to die from lonliness.
They do bond to other Kelpies very quickly and once they bond they become very close. Breaking this bond is very hard to do. If you seperate a Kelpie from their herd it increases the risk of having a depressed, and maybe violent Kelpie.
You do have to watch Keplie Stallions, they often fight over mares, territory, and people. The only way to fix this is to have them fixed.
Appearance
Both male and female kelpies both have long manes and tails. They are often very flowy and dramatic looking. They can come in a range of colors, the most common are natural colors. Having a colorful and brightly colored Kelpie is extremely rare. They're eyes on the other hand are always oddly colored.
Female Kelpies have short feathered fur on their hooves, often the same color as their mane.
Males have very thick, very long, feathered fur by their hooves. This protects the tender skin and muscles during fights.
Mares average between 14 hh and 16hh. Stallions are between 15hh and 18hh. Having an extremely tall kelpie (18+hh) is very rare.
Breeding
One male and one female are needed to breed. THe offspring will be a random mix of their traits. Twins are rare. Gender is 100% random. Mares can breed 6 times. Stallions can breed 10.
